A purifier and a fan do different jobs
An air purifier moves room air through filter media to reduce certain airborne particles. A fan creates airflow that can make people feel more comfortable. Neither function automatically replaces air conditioning or source control.

Choose a purifier for an air quality goal
Compare particle clean air delivery rate, room size assumptions, noise and replacement filter availability. Activated carbon can help with some gases and odours, but performance depends on the amount and type of carbon.
