Methodology

How prices and deal signals are calculated.

Our method is designed to separate a meaningful price reduction from an ordinary advertised sale.

Data sources

Production data will come from authorised retailer feeds, affiliate network feeds and public product APIs. We will identify the source and last successful update on product pages.

Product matching

Offers are matched using identifiers such as model number, manufacturer code, barcode, capacity, colour and pack size. Variants are kept separate when they are not directly comparable.

Price history

Observed prices are stored over time. The typical price is based on recent valid observations, while the recorded low is the lowest eligible price in the stated period. Shipping and membership requirements will be identified when known.

Deal signal

The signal considers the discount from the recent typical price, distance from the recorded low, data freshness and offer availability. Affiliate commission does not increase a score.

Corrections

Retail prices can change quickly. If a price, product match or availability record appears wrong, contact us with the page address and retailer evidence so it can be reviewed.
